Delete your TravelLog account

This page explains how to permanently delete your TravelLog account and the data associated with it. Application: com.jarm.travellog.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

  1. Open TravelLog and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy & Data.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm. Your account and cloud data are permanently deleted.

For your security, you may be asked to sign out and back in before deleting.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app, email armgardtj@outlook.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we delete it.

Account deletion is processed immediately in-app: the deleteUserAccount cascade removes your cloud data and your sign-in account in a single run. For verified requests made by email, we aim to complete deletion promptly. Server logs that mention your account identifier are deleted by our hosting provider within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account runs a server-side cascade that permanently removes:

Shared trips you own are deleted for everyone on them. On shared trips you were invited to, you are removed as a member and your own comments are deleted.

Cancel your TravelLog Pro subscription in the store before you delete your account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — billing continues through Apple or Google until you cancel it there (iOS: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). A subscription can only ever be used by the account that bought it, so if you delete this account and sign up again, the same subscription cannot be restored on the new account. Contact armgardtj@outlook.com if you need one moved.

What is not deleted (and why)

Deletion cannot be undone.

Photos

Photos you attach to a trip entry, and receipt photos you attach to an expense, are uploaded to our storage backend (Google Firebase Storage) so they appear on your other devices and for the people you share a trip with. They are private to you and those people; they are never included in a public link.

If you used receipt scanning or imported a booking from a screenshot, that image was also sent to Anthropic (Claude) to be read. It is used only to answer that request and is not used to train their models.

Deleting your account deletes the uploaded photo files from our storage as part of the same cascade, and removes the links to them from trips other people own: your photos disappear from those trips' entries, receipts and photo gallery. Copies of photos that are still in your phone's own photo library are yours and are not touched.
